Natural Systems

NS-12
Develop long-term turtle-nesting beach preservation and management strategies to reduce nest vulnerability and mortality.

Public Outreach and Engagement

PO-7
Leverage resources for campaign and promotional advertisements by coordinating public transportation messaging in the region to attract non-transit-dependent (choice) riders. Messages should focus on making riding transit “cool.”
PO-8
Deploy social media applications, to facilitate use of transit including access to real-time information such as arrival times.

Public Policy Advocacy

PP-5
Federal Surface Transportation Authorization. Advocate for new authorization of the federal surface transportation programs with increased priority for funding public transit and non- motorized travel and integrated regional and local planning as means to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector. Such a federal program should explicitly incorporate climate change and shift priorities toward programs that encourage reinvestment in existing infrastructure and communities (“fix-it-first” programs), support public transportation and transit-oriented development, and address congestion management through means other than new road building.
