Local governments all around Florida’s coast—like the government of St. Augustine—could face huge costs to protect their assets, as sea level rise puts storm drains, causeways, sewer systems, and other critical facilities as risk. On top of these costs, rising seas could threaten revenue from tourism and waterfront properties. Across the region, coastal communities’ approaches to these challenges vary.
