Stimulating transformational thinking for maritime systems climate risk adaptation: Research overview

Storm resilience and climate adaptation has long been acknowledged as a “wicked problem” for planners and policy makers. The uncertainties in rates of climate change and the lack of significant resilience funding leave decision makers unsure as to which adaptation option(s) to pursue, on what timescale, and how to pay. Read more about the lecture.

About the Speaker

Dr. Austin Becker is a faculty member of the Department of Marine Affairs at the University of Rhode Island. He is an interdisciplinary social scientist working across the fields of planning, policy, engineering, design, and climate-change science.  Read more about the speaker.
